Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) are used to handle threats to maritime assets, territorial waters, exclusive economic zones and maritime borders. They also provide scientific and commercial services, such as weather, research, and oceanography. For today’s long-endurance USVs which operate Beyond Line-of-Sight (BLOS), reliable and high-performance satellite communications are essential for ensuring uninterrupted connectivity in harsh maritime conditions.
Gilat’s BlackRay Maritime 300 terminal supports full-duplex satellite communication, linking the USV to its ground control station. The forward link provides command and control capabilities, while the return link transfers sensor data. The system can transmit at high speeds from the USV for any IP-based voice, video or data BLoS application.
Designed for minimal size, weight and power (SWaP), BlackRay Maritime 300 delivers high-throughput communication, even for small USVs. It comprises best-of breed Gilat technologies, including our low-profile antenna, high-performance modem and BUC. The terminal is MILSPEC compliant and adapted to maritime conditions.
