Who we are looking for

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of new product design, development and transition into the manufacturing processes including supply chain contract manufactures. This role involves driving quality improvements, maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. The Senior Quality Engineer will lead efforts to identify and address quality issues, implement preventive measures, and support the continuous improvement of the NPI process.

What you will do

  • Monitor and enhance the NPI processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and implement process controls, inspection procedures, and testing methods to maintain consistent new product quality.
  • Conduct process capability studies and statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Quality Representative on the NPI related CCB/CRB.
  • Responsible to sign off NPI related ECOs and lead the ECO/MCO implementation team
  • Key facilitator of new product and/or process qualification efforts, assuring integration and utilization of the following processes; AS 9102 FAI, Risk Management, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, Gage R&R Capability Studies, etc.
  • Provide Expertise to the Quality Assurance Process, concentrating on new product Supplier Quality and including Quality Systems and Manufacturing Quality.
  • Develop, implement new product Quality and Safety Systems and Procedures
  • Lead Internal NPI system, process and product audit process for Quality and Safety. Includes supporting with internal audits.
  • Provide technical support with existing and New Product Development (NPD) projects.
  • Prepare and deliver Quality and Safety training pertaining to NPI.

Requirements

  • Training/Certifications: CQA and CQE certification preferred. Certified Auditor, a plus. Six Sigma Green or Black belt a plus. Familiarity with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certification a plus.
  • Education: Four-year science or related field degree required and minimum 6 years of related work experience, 10 years’ experience in the Quality Assurance in lieu of education.
  • Experience: Strong background in AS9100 certification and maintenance in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Ideal candidate will have IPC 600/610 soldering, IPC-620 harness builds and knowledge of PCB’s, PCBA’s & Mechanical (machining, plating, etc.), IPC 600, ASQ Z 1.4, ANSI Y 14.5 and related. Experience with FAA-PMA and FAA 14 CFR Repair Stations a plus.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership skills. Root Cause/Corrective Action using tools such as 5-Why, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, etc. Self-starter and skilled to work independently with limited direction. Strong MS Office suite experience. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required typing skills. Must possess excellent written and oral communication, including proficient computer skills required for reports, charts, data analysis and presentations.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to sit/stand for an extended period of time. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time
  • Due to export control regulations, this position requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status.


This position is considered safety-sensitive under FAA regulations and requires the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Specific duties include Aircraft maintenance and preventive maintenance, which are considered safety-sensitive functions under FAA Part 120. Employees must maintain a clean drug and alcohol testing record throughout their employment. When requested, results of drug and alcohol test maybe shared with future employers, in accordance to FAA requirements.
